Our activities are mostly child initiated to encourage our children to develop curiosity and to learn through play.  In our most recent OFSTED inspection (December 2022), we were rated as OUTSTANDING in all areas.  A copy of the report is available in the Preschool, or on the OFSTED website.

Our team are friendly and approachable and we offer a high standard of education while meeting each child's individual care needs.  We aim to be aware of all our children’s needs – dealing with them individually and appropriately.  All team are committed to our adopted policies.  As 98 percent of our children transition into the adjacent Burford Cof E Primary School, we aim to familiarise the children with this school and its staff, by holding activities in the school hall and starting our transition visits early so children become familiar with the school.

Our Aim:

is to provide children attending BURFORD PRESCHOOL C.I.C. with a rich and varied environment to best support their individual needs, learning and development as well as encourage their confidence to explore and learn in a secure and safe, yet challenging, indoor and outdoor free-flow environment.

We aim to provide the highest quality relationships, experiences and environment for our children which enables them to leave us capable, strong, resilient and confident, ready for their next journey ahead.

Our Intent

Meeting the individual needs of all children lies at the heart of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS:2021). At Burford Preschool C.I.C we aim to:

  • Deliver personalised learning, development and care, for each child’s needs to support them to reach their full potential

  • Provide broad, balanced and varied invitations to learn within a safe and stimulating environment

  • Provide equal opportunities for all children within the Preschool community. For children with SEND we have access to Shropshire and Worcestershire SEND teams, who support staff to provide a supportive curriculum that meets their individual needs

  • Provide quality care that shapes confident, independent children who value caring, sharing and respect for one another

  • Promote a positive working relationship between staff, children, parents/ carers and management which actively promotes equality and inclusion
